We started out celebrating Peter today by going fishing. We all had fun until Colin got hooked on the finger. We decided it was time to go on home after that! We went out to eat at a chinese restaurant for lunch. Chinese food is Peter's absolute favorite! By the time we got back home it was naptime! This is another of Peter's favorite pasttimes and thankfully the boys all cooperated today and he was able to get a nap for himself! Then we pulled out the slip and slide for Will to play on while Peter worked on the treehouse. Then Peter got some much needed time on his potter's wheel! All in all it has been a pretty relaxing day which is what Peter likes best! We are so thankful to have Peter as the daddy of this family!
Here is our sweet little Lucy. She is getting around more now. Selena actually let her move out of the closet and she now lives in the boys' room which tickles Colin to death. He is so in love with this kitten. He spends a good part of his day snuggling in his bed with her. While he still has a lot to learn as far as being gentle with her, he is doing much better. Now we just have to work on Jack!
Peter decided to try and camp out in the back yard with the boys Sunday night. It was "Boys Only" so I got to stay inside and watch a movie and soak my feet! I was in heaven. They did invite me to the campfire for dinner and I got a few pictures!
I decided to try and sneak out to get a picture of the guys in the tent after they had been out there for a while. This is what I found...
Peter said that they had been asking to come inside since he had gotten them in the tent. Will said he missed his mommy! That got him a few points! HA! I brought Colin in after I took this picture and put him in his bed. Will and Peter stayed out there until about 1:30am when Peter got too cold! Will said in a really sleepy voice as Peter was laying him in his bed, "I did good!" He so wanted to be the big boy and stay in the tent all night!
Well, our boy finished his first soccer season. Of course I forgot my camera so I missed the actual trophy ceremony. I was really hoping to get some last pictures of him on the field as well, but that didn't happen. Will got into the swing of things by the end of the season. He ran up and down the field with the rest of the pack and on his last game he even dribbled the ball for a few feet! Some days he says he wants to play again and some days he says he wants to play tee ball again. We'll see when it actually comes time for signups!
Selena had her kitten. Yes, she only had one. I think that is pretty odd, but I am thankful because I was not looking forward to having to pawn off a bunch of kittens! The birth was really more exciting than I thought it would be. I think it actually caught Selena by surprise because she did it right in the middle of the living room where we were all sitting! Nobody actually saw it happen. She didn't make a sound. We just noticed her licking and licking and then realized it was a baby that she was licking and licking! Of course once she was done, she carried her off to a safe place! She seems to be a really good mama kitty! Anytime she hears her little meow (mostly when we get in there to pet her and show her to the boys) she comes running to make sure she is ok!
I don't know who Sally Clarkson is, but I really liked what she had to say about child-rearing in this post!
